Candidates file to run for Hopkinsville City Council

The list of people running for Hopkinsville City Council continues to grow as the deadline to file approaches.

According to the Christian County Clerk’s Office, Republican Incumbent Amy Craig in Ward 5 has filed to seek re-election to that seat.  Former Councilman Thomas Grant, who represented Ward 1 before losing a re-election bid to Darvin Adams in 2018, filed his paperwork Wednesday to once again run for that seat.

In Ward 6, Kenneth Hatzakorian has filed to run as a democrat, which means there will be a primary race between him and Shannon Worden.

Twyla Dillard-Parris has filed to run as a democrat in Ward 8, the seat currently held by Tom Johnson, who is seeking re-election.  In Ward 9, Democrat Ardell Owens filed his papers and will face incumbent Democrat Patricia Bell in a primary.

The deadline to file is Friday.
