A man who was treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound early Friday morning was arrested a few hours later on multiple charges.
Hopkinsville police were called to the 2100 block of Butler Road just after midnight and found 21-year old Douglas King outside of a residence with a gunshot wound to the foot. Detectives Sgt. Todd DeArmond says King was treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then lodged in the Christian County Jail on charges of trafficking in marijuana while armed, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with evidence .
King initially reported the incident as a robbery, according to police, who say further investigation revealed he may have actually accidentally shot himself in the foot.
