The Kentucky Football Coaches Association announced today its Player and Coach of the Year. The Player of the Year is Michael Mayer of Covington Catholic, who led the Colonels to the Class 5-A state title in finishing the season with a perfect 15-0 record. The Coach of the Year is Pikeville’s Chris McNamee, who led the Panthers to a 14-0 record and the Class A state championship.
