After over 43 years of service to the community at the WHOP family of stations, General Manager Mike Chadwell has announced he will retire in March.
Chadwell has been general manager since 2005 and served as general sales manager, sports director, sales representative and in numerous other capacities during his tenure.
He says it was a difficult decision, but he knew in his heart that now was the time to step away.
Much has changed in the radio business over 43 years, not the least of which is the implementation of technology with the emergence of the WHOP websites, social media outlets and web streaming.
Chadwell plans to use his new-found freedom to spend more time with family and to travel.
Chadwell’s final day at WHOP will be March 27, 2020.
