Suspect arrested for strangling woman during altercation

A man accused of choking the mother of his child during an argument Saturday night on Boals Street was arrested.

Hopkinsville police charged 24-year old James Collins of Hopkinsville with second-degree strangulation following an investigation a few minutes after 10 p.m.

An arrest citation says Collins admitted that an argument between him and the victim became physical and that he started to choke her after they pushed each other.

The victim had visible marks on her neck and Collins was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
