Driver arrested for DUI following rollover crash

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Fort Campbell Boulevard near the Masonville overpass.

It happened shortly before 3 a.m. and the report from Hopkinsville police says 37-year old Leon Davie of Hopkinsville was northbound when he said he swerved to miss a deer. His car went off the side of the road and struck a guard rail, causing it to flip and come to rest upside down.

Davie and his passenger, 22-year old Ashley Vudin of Hopkinsville, both left the scene prior to police arrival and were located on Denzil Drive.

Police say Davie admitted to being the driver and that he smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests.

Davie was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. Vudin was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
