Bonnie Lynch was the first and only director of the Christian County Imagination Library program until her recent retirement and she was honored with a reception Friday at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
The program provides an age-appropriate book through the mail each month to any registered child between the ages of zero and five in Christian County at no cost to the family. Lynch says that’s important because it stresses the importance of literacy at an early age.
She says leading the Imagination Library program has been a labor of love since it began in December of 2012.
Lynch is confident it will continue to thrive under the leadership of Sarah Hardison and with the financial support of the community.
She says while she won’t be directly involved in the day-to-day affairs of the program any longer, she’ll be willing to support Hardison in any way she can.
