Pembroke officials urge citizens to assist in storm clean-up

Clean up continues from the Saturday storm that contained winds of near hurricane levels in Christian and Todd Counties, and Pembroke officials are asking for everyone to do their part.

According to a press release from Pembroke Mayor Judy Peterson, there’s a plan of action in place to continue efforts in cleaning up debris from the storm that resulted in wide spread damage and power outages.  The Christian County Jail and the Christian County Road Department will aid in cleaning Pembroke starting Wednesday and will return the following two Tuesdays.

Citizens are urged to pick up limbs and branches on their own property and move it to the street to aid in clean-up efforts.  The Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department will continue to provide vital assistance and leadership in the efforts.
