Two Hopkinsville Rhodes Scholars to return for NAACP banquet weekend

Two Hopkinsville natives who earned the prestigious distinction of being Rhodes Scholars will return home next month for the local NAACP’s Annual Freedom Fund Banquet.

Dr. Darryl Banks will be the keynote speaker at the banquet Saturday, November 2 at Pioneers, Inc.

The banquet begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are available for $25 each for adults and $15 for children. A table for eight is $200 and tickets must be purchased in advance.

A meet and greet event on Friday, November 1 at 6 p.m. at Pioneers will be free to attend and Dr. Banks and former Kentucky State University President Dr. Raymond Burse will be on hand to talk to old friends and acquaintances.
