For the fourth consecutive year, Elkton City Council has kept the same tax rate on real property.
Council approved final reading of an ordinance Thursday night to keep the rate at 24.9 cents per $100 of assessed value, according to City Clerk Laura Brock.
Keeping the same rate will generate approximately $4,648 in additional revenue from last year due to increased assessments.
The tax rate on personal property will actually go down from 15.89 to 14.97 cents per $100 of assessed value.
