A bond motion was denied Wednesday morning for the woman accused of shooting Amareya’ Freeman to death June 6 at an apartment complex on Greenville Road.
Attorney Michael Thompson represents 19-year old Anshanique Leavell of Hopkinsville and asked that her $100,000 bond be reduced to an amount her mother can afford.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling argued the current amount could be considered low for a murder charge and Judge John Atkins agreed the bond is appropriate.
Leavell is accused of shooting Freeman in the chest and is charged with murder, receiving stolen property and complicity to tampering with physical evidence.
Another pre-trial conference is set for October 16 and Judge Atkins urged Boling to turn over all discovery in the case to Thompson well before that date.
