Additional details have been released on the three-vehicle crash Friday morning on the Pennyrile Parkway in Christian County that killed three Indiana residents.
The collision report from Christian County Sheriff’s Detective Luis Palmer says 72-year old Golden Euler of Evansville was southbound in the left lane near the 3 mile-marker a few minutes before 5 a.m. when she made contact with the left rear of a tractor-trailer driven by 58-year old Bernard Jackson of Linton, Indiana that was in the right lane.
Euler’s SUV began to flip and Jackson said he saw it overturn three to four times.
Another southbound car driven by 38-year old Jose Gabriel of Hopkinsville attempted to avoid debris in the road and could not see Euler’s SUV in the middle of the highway until it was too late to avoid a collision.
Euler’s husband, daughter and granddaughter—76-year old Doug Euler, 46-year old Kimberly Haley and 25-year old Jennifer Hoffman—all died from their injuries. Golden Euler was taken first to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then to Skyline Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
Gabriel was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart and Jackson was not injured.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
