Public library offering more services, programs

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library continues to offer more than just books to the community—including a modifying of costs of services and the ability to sign up for passports there.

Appearing on WHOP Monday morning, Executive Director Deanna Sova says they listened to their members and have changed the cost of renting a bike from their Book-A-Bike program and it’ll now be only a dollar to rent a bike, if you have a library card.

Its $5 to rent a bike if you do not have a library card—which Sova points out is free to acquire. She says the library will also help you apply for a passport on August 10—no appointment required.

The library also recently unveiled its new texting service that would update subscribers with services and programs happening at the facility and if there are any changes to scheduling.
