HPD cracks down on seat belt law violators

The Hopkinsville Police Department has been cracking down on motorists violating Kentucky’s seat belt law.

About 20 citations were issued Saturday morning and afternoon to motorists who were not buckled up—mostly in the Fort Campbell Boulevard and Skyline Drive areas.

The citations come with a $25 pre-payable fine—though a few motorists will have to appear in court due to other issues with insurance or their driver’s license that were discovered during the traffic stops.
