Longtime Murray State journalism professor and Hopkinsville native, Dr. Robert McGaughey has passed away.
The 76-year old died Friday at University of Louisville Hospital following a short, severe illness, according to information from the Kentucky Press Association.
He was a graduate of Hopkinsville High School and was a respected member of the Murray State faculty for 42 years until his retirement a few years ago.
