HPD arrests Madisonville woman on drug charges

Hopkinsville police arrested a Madisonville woman on drug charges late Thursday night.

Officer Michael Felts saw 30-year old Megan Smith standing on the sidewalk behind First United Methodist Church staring at the building and swaying just before midnight, according to the report, which says he went to check and see if she had a medical emergency.

He saw smith remove an object from her mouth and observed her keeping her right hand cupped.

Further investigation determined she allegedly had a synthetic marijuana cigarette in her hand, and additional synthetic marijuana in purse and on her person.

She was arrested for her second offense of synthetic drug possession and for tampering with evidence.
