One person was killed and another was severely injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday in Clarksville.

Clarksville Police say it happened about 2:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Ashland City Road when 30-year old Michael Darling of Clarksville was northbound and crossed the center line for unknown reasons and went off the left side of the roadway.

The car went down a steep wooded embankment and came to rest on its side.

Darling was extricated and flown to a Nashville hospital, where he was in critical, but stable condition. His passenger, 28-year old Jered Woody, was pronounced dead at the scene.
