The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Saturday morning at a location on Russellville Road following a disturbance involving a gun.
Deputies were called to 3080 Russellville Road at about 10:15 a.m. regarding 25-year old Jimmy Wells, Jr. of Hopkinsville allegedly pulling a handgun on his father during a dispute over a car.
The suspect had placed the gun in the trunk of his father’s vehicle when police arrived. The gun was retrieved and Wells, Jr. reportedly said he needed the weapon for protection.
A computer check showed he is a convicted felon.
Wells, Jr. was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
