Local Habitat for Humanity in need of donations

The local branch of Habitat for Humanity recently cut the ribbon for their newest construction in years, and the director says they’re eager to continue building, but they need some help.

Jacob Holland was thrilled with the family’s happiness at the new build and says they want to continue making that happen. He says the partnership with Hopkinsville Community College’s Construction Technology program has been a win-win for both sides and they’ll happily partner with others on their new project.

He says call 270-885-8222 to make a donation, or reach out to them on their Facebook page.

Holland says it’s not just the college and donations that makes the builds happen—the future homeowners themselves provide hours of ‘sweat equity’ into their new homes.

There had been fears the local Habitat branch, which was founded in 1992, would have to dissolve due to funding challenges, but the partnership and other efforts have allowed them to start work in the area again.
