KSP investigating semi-truck crash on I-24

Kentucky State Police are investigating a semi-truck crash in Christian County late Tuesday night that closed I-24 for several hours and injured the driver.

According to a news release, Trooper Hunter Carroll reported to I-24 near the 74 mile marker for reports that a tractor-trailer was overturned on the interstate. Investigation determined that 53-year old Calvin Milford of Georgia had been operating the semi westbound on I-24 when he struck a set of tires that had been left in the roadway.

Milford lost control of the vehicle, which entered the median, struck the cable barrier and overturned across the interstate. He was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The Kentucky Department of Transportation closed left lanes traveling east and west bound in order to clean up debris left on the roadway.
