Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear believes his message is resonating as he seeks the Democratic nomination for governor in a primary that’s about two weeks away.
Beshear was at the War Memorial Building in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon and says his momentum is building.
If he were to be successful in May and November, Beshear believes he can build bridges between himself and a Republican-controlled General Assembly.
Beshear says any budget he’d propose as governor would fully fund the pension systems and he would support expanded gambling in multiple ways to raise new revenue that could be used for pensions.
He says agriculture is an area to invest in—particularly agriculture technology—which he believes could bring high-paying jobs to western Kentucky.
Beshear is competing with former auditor Adam Edelen and House Minority Floor Leader Rocky Adkins for the Democratic nomination.
