A Fort Campbell soldier died Monday from wounds sustained in a non-combat-related incident in Syria.
The Department of Defense identifies him as 28-year old Private First Class Michael Thomason of Lincoln Park, Michigan.
He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and was in Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
