Elsewhere in the National League: Harrison Bader homered and Marcell Ozuna hit a two-run single in a six-run fifth inning as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Washington Nationals 6-3. Game two is tonight at Nationals Park.

Mike Soroka struck out eight over six innings of four-hit, one-run ball as the Atlanta Braves beat the San Diego Padres 3-1 at SunTrust Park. Game two of the series is this evening.
