Prosecutor says former deputy hasn’t paid restitution

A motion to revoke the pretrial diversion for former Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Tucker has been filed, due to Tucker reportedly failing to pay the required $55,000 in restitution.

Former Todd and Logan County assistant commonwealth’s attorney Justin Crocker is the special prosecutor in the case and filed a motion on April 23 to revoke the pretrial diversion that was a part a plea deal that Tucker accepted in February. In taking the deal, Tucker pleaded guilty to felony to theft by unlawful taking, over $10,000.  He was required to serve 180 in the Christian County Jail—where he is still lodged—and pay $55,000 by using his pension fund.  Once doing so, the recommended five years sentence would be probated.  According to court documents, Tucker reportedly failed to pay the restitution.

Tucker has a new court date of May 22 in the Circuit Courtroom of Judge Andrew Self to hear the motion to revoke.

He pleaded guilty to stealing $55,000 from the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation, which oversees the Juvenile Drug Court program.
