One injured, one arrested after hit and run

One person was injured and another was arrested following a hit and run collision Monday morning near Lafayette Road and the Eagle Way Bypass.

Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Tony Sierra says 36-year old Justin Benjamin caused the crash and then fled the scene on foot before being arrested in the Holiday Park area.

He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, possession of methamphetamine, driving with an expired license and was served with an outstanding warrant.

Sgt. Sierra says Benjamin caused the wreck by rear-ending a woman and pushing her into another automobile.

Hopkinsville Police identified the woman who was injured as 57-year old Melody Joseph of Hopkinsville.
