Austin Peay players took Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors announced by the league today. Garrett Spain won his first OVC Player of the Week honor after hitting .462 in a three game series against Morehead State over the weekend with nine RBI. He had a game winning double in game one, a walk off fielder’s choice in game two and a three run home run in the third game.
Meanwhile, pitcher Jacques Pucheu was named Co-Pitcher of the Week. Pucheu held Morehead State to one run and six hits, along with three walks in pitching the first complete game for Governor pitchers since 2017. The Governors welcome Southern Illinois for a 4 pm game tomorrow afternoon in Clarksville.
