Christian County takes 8th district series with Hopkinsville

Christian County blanked Hopkinsville 5-0 last night in the second game of an 8th district series at Tiger Field. The Colonels did their damage in the first two innings scoring their five runs. Hopkinsville starting pitcher Layne Jorgensen was knocked out in the first inning after pitching to only five batters. Christian County had five hits to Hopkinsville’s one, which was a single by Caleb Bapp to lead off the second inning.

Wyatt Stevenson threw a complete game for the Colonels to get the win as Christian County improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in district play while Hopkinsville lost for the second straight game in falling to 4-2 and is now 1-2 in 8th district play.
