I-24 open again at landslide site

The temporary I-24 eastbound lanes near Old Hickory Boulevard are open. The Tennessee Department of Transportation opened the lanes Wednesday night after the area was closed due to a landslide during heavy rain last month.

The new lanes stretch about three-quarters-of-a-mile, allowing traffic to move through the area again.

Work to stabilize the hillside next to the interstate is expected to take at least two to three months.
