City celebrates Officer Davidson returning home from Skyline Medical Center

Hopkinsville City Council celebrated the good condition and return home of Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Davidson at Tuesday’s meeting.

Officer Davidson received an escort from Skyline Medical Center, led by HPD, the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and Hopkinsville Fire Department to his home in Hopkinsville. He had been taken to Skyline early Monday morning after he was shot in the arm and head by an alleged robbery suspect at the end of a pursuit on North Drive near Sanderson Drive.

Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks thanked the community for their outpouring of support and says Officer Davidson is doing well.

He asks for everyone to continue praying for a full recovery and says this incident being not even a year out from the shooting death of Officer Phillip Meacham really highlights the dedication law enforcement has to the community.

The four suspects involved in the incident that led to the shooting of Officer Davidson are in custody and facing multiple felony charges. Hendricks thanked Officer Davidson and all other law enforcement for their drive and will to keep the community safe.
