Flood Warning until 9:30 a.m.

A Flood Warning is in effect for Christian, Todd, Trigg, Muhlenberg and Calloway counties until 9:30 a.m. and

Heavy rain picked up with a line of thunderstorms that began pushing through about 2 a.m. and the southern Pennyrile region has received 1-to-2 inches of rain since last night..

Higher amounts have been noted in Caldwell, Hopkins, Marshall, Lyon and counties toward the Ohio River, where rain began last night and continued through the early morning hours.

No major flooding issues have been reported so far in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, but motorists on their morning commutes should slow down and be on the lookout for standing water in the usual places.

Never attempt to drive through standing water, as only a few inches can wash your vehicle off the road.

Our next big rain maker will come Friday night and Saturday, when another 3 inches of rain could fall and severe weather will be a possibility.
