James Gentry, the man charged in connection with the shooting death of Keith Joey Hayes, was indicted by a Trigg County Grand Jury Thursday.
That’s according to Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins, who confirmed that Gentry was indicted on charges of murder, first-degree robbery and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in relation to the incident that occurred in November.
As previously reported, Gentry allegedly admitted to Kentucky State Police that he was present when Hayes was shot multiple times on November 27. He also reportedly admitted to transporting Hayes to the location on Buffalo Road in Trigg County where he was killed.
Gentry had been listed as the last person to see Hayes on a missing person report filed with the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
Gentry is lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $1 million bond and at this time, no other person has been charged in connection with the incident.
