Man arrested for meth trafficking, violating EPO

A Hopkinsville man arrested for violating a restraining order had methamphetamine trafficking charges tacked on after a search at the jail Saturday night.

City police arrested 35-year old Gregory Shemwell of Hopkinsville at a Sanderson Drive address after he was found arguing with his ex-wife, who had taken out an EPO against him. He had refused to leave and was arrested for violating an EPO and for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A search of his person at the jail allegedly revealed a baggie of meth, leading to the trafficking and promoting contraband charges.
