First round action at the Girls All A State Tournament in Richmond saw 1st region winner and defending champion Murray hang on for a 56-54 win over Danville. They will face 3rd region winner Owensboro Catholic in the quarterfinals at 9 am Friday. The Lady Aces routed Brown 73-23.
Earlier in the day, 4th region winner Metcalfe County defeated Louisville Holy Cross 58-49. The opening game saw Covington Holy Cross topple Middlesboro 59-35. Metcalfe County meets Covington Holy Cross in the first quarterfinal game at 7:30 Friday morning.
