Two arrested for meth possession on North Main

An investigation at the Fairview Inn on North Main Street early Tuesday morning led to two people being arrested on methamphetamine charges.

Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Tony Sierra was investigating suspicious activity between two vehicles on the lot at about 1 a.m.

An arrest citation for 21-year old Jennifer Overton of Hopkinsville says she told officers she had left her room to get ‘Spice’ from a vehicle that was occupied by 20-year old Daniel Sly and 26-year old Spenser Wilford of Hopkinsville. She allegedly admitted there was meth in her room and said 20-year old Matthew Glass was inside sleeping.

A search revealed a plastic baggy containing methamphetamine hidden underneath the trash in the trashcan. Officers also found a glass pipe containing burned residue in a night table.

Several baggies of marijuana were located in the vehicle and Overton claimed ownership of the largest one.

Overton and Glass were arrested for possession of meth, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. Overton was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Sly and Wilford were cited into court for marijuana possession.
