Update: Elkton MLK service has been canceled due to weather.
There will be Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day commemorations Sunday in Hopkinsville and Elkton.
The Hopkinsville-Christian County NAACP’s annual Sunday Martin Luther King, Jr. Day service will be at First Street Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. Randy Jackson of the Belle Flower Missionary Baptist Church in Grenada, Mississippi will be the featured speaker. A reception hosted by Pioneers, Inc. will follow.
Meanwhile, the Todd County Lay and Ministers Alliance will host its annual service—with the poster competition and march to begin at 2:30 at the city-county park and conclude with the worship service at Todd County Central High School.
Elkton Mayor Arthur Green will be the featured speaker and the theme will be unity.
