Two arrested on drug charges after traffic stop on US 68 in Logan County

A traffic stop on US 68 in Logan County Sunday night led to the arrests of two people on drug charges.

Deputy Jason Brent stopped a vehicle driven by 39-year old Renae Murrell of Bowling Green for careless driving and a computer check showed she was wanted on five separate warrants and that she was driving with a suspended license.

A search of her purse allegedly revealed a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue.

Her passenger, 39-year old Marrion Carnell of Bowling Green, allegedly had a pill bottle in his coat pocket containing six individually wrapped baggies of cocaine. A bag of 15 individually wrapped baggies of methamphetamine was found in his pants pocket, according to police.

Murrell was served with the warrants and charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Carnell was arrested for trafficking in cocaine and meth.
