Nashville Sounds announce 2019 manager, coaches

Former Nashville Sound Jason Wood has been named the manager of the new Triple A affiliate of the Texas Rangers for the 2019 season. The 49-year-old manager comes from Round Rock, which was the former Rangers affiliate in the Pacific Coast League for the past five seasons. He compiled a 208-283 record in that time.

Wood’s staff will also include former major leaguers Howard Johnson, who will be the Sounds hitting coach and Eric Gagne, who will serve as Nashville’s bullpen coach. The Sounds will face the Rangers in an exhibition game on March 24th at 1:05 pm at First Tennessee Park.
