Elected officials, deputy jailers and deputy sheriffs in Christian County were sworn in during ceremonies Sunday at the Christian County Justice Center.

There were several newly elected office-holders, including Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling, who retook that seat from Lynn Pryor last year after losing it to her in 2006.

Boling says he’s already been preparing to hit the ground running with a busy circuit court docket.

Boling’s assistant commonwealth’s attorneys will include Hopkins County public defender Hannah Peveler, former public defender Jared Smith and Stephanie Bolen—who will make local history.

He says his administrative staff is also set.

Meanwhile, retiring District Judge Jim Adams received a standing ovation before he watched Judge Foster Cotthoff swear-in former Assistant County Attorney Lindsey Adams to fill his seat on the bench.

Circuit Court Clerk Paige Eli Parker, County Attorney John Soyars and Sheriff Tyler DeArmond begin their first full terms—though they have already been serving unexpired terms in those capacities.
