Westerfield says pension reform has to be top priority in 2019

State Senator Whitney Westerfield of Christian County says pension reform has to be the General Assembly’s top priority when they convene for the 2019 short session next week.

The Kentucky Supreme Court struck down last year’s pension bill based on the procedure used to pass it and Senator Westerfield says that leaves lawmakers with a big job to do this year.

Don’t expect legislators to replicate 2017 when they passed top priorities in the first week of the session—but Westerfield says they need to get it done as quickly as possible.
