Warrant: Suspect fired gunshot at man on bed New Year’s Day

A man who had been featured as a Crime Stoppers fugitive of the week was arrested Wednesday morning and he’s accused of firing a gunshot at a man who was lying on a bed New Year’s Day.

Charged with first-degree wanton endangerment is 20-year old Steven Moody of Hopkinsville. The warrant alleges that he went into the home on East 18th Street and demanded that a female there open the bedroom door.

When she opened it, Moody allegedly yelled for the man to leave and then fired a shot that didn’t hit anyone. The male and female victims were able to identify Moody as the shooter and police recovered a shell casing at the scene.

Moody is also facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Christian County Jail website.
