Hopkinsville Police are investigating a case of alleged animal cruelty after a dog was found severely malnourished at a vacant residence.
Officer Samantha Rodriguez found the dog at 1015 East Seventh Street and determined it had been left in the vacant home without adequate food or water for an extended period of time.
The dog was severely underweight and was removed from the home by police.
The incident is being investigated as second-degree cruelty to animals.
