Police looking to stop impaired drivers during holiday period

This is one of the busiest weeks on Kentucky roads and Kentucky State Police and other law enforcement agencies will be out in full force looking to stop and arrest anyone driving impaired.

Trooper Corey King expects roads to be extra-busy this holiday season.

He says they use data to place an increased focus on high-collision areas and intersections.

Trooper King reminds that a bad decision to not plan ahead when you know you’re going to consume alcohol at a party could put you in jail and could be fatal if you’re involved in an accident.

KSP will also be using safety checkpoints to get impaired motorists off the road through the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
