Kentucky State Treasurer Alison Ball has filed her paperwork to seek a second term to that office.
According to a news release, Ball was joined by her husband and by Kelley Paul, wife of Senator Rand Paul when she filed her paperwork. She says, “Paul is a strong female leader and a great example to women across Kentucky. It means a lot to me, as a young mother, to have Kelley Paul, a woman who is making a difference while being a successful wife and mother, sign my papers.”
She says, “I have enjoyed serving the people of Kentucky as Treasurer these past three years. I want to continue working to improve the Kentucky State Treasury and the Commonwealth in a second term.”
In the release, Ball boasts of her efforts to offer transparency to Kentucky residents, including launching transparency.ky.gov. which showcases spending, salaries, contracts and more in Kentucky government. Upon her swearing-in in January 2016, she became the youngest female statewide elected official then serving in the United States.
