United Way raises 75 percent of goal, still accepting donations

The United Way of the Pennyrile is three months into their annual fundraising campaign and the campaign chairs gave an update on how it’s going Friday.

Chris Gilkey and Russ Guffey are this year’s “dynamic duo” leading the campaign effort and in a Facebook video, Gilkey says they’ve raised 75 percent of their $806,000 goal.

Guffey says the money they raise will directly benefit people in Christian, Todd, Trigg and Caldwell counties and last year, approximately 59,000 people were impacted by the United Way.

Gilkey says there are multiple ways to donate, including going online to the United Way of the Pennyrile website or calling the office directly.

The theme for this year’s campaign is “Dynamic Duos: The United Way and You” and is celebrating the relationship between the organization and the community. To stay up-to-date, follow the United Way of the Pennyrile on Facebook.
