Christian County got a chance to bid farewell to longtime Coroner Dorris Lamb with a reception Wednesday where he was presented with a Meritorious Service Award.
The award was presented to Lamb by Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble, who remembered fondly the numerous conversations and even arguments that have been had between them over the years since Lamb was elected in 1985. Tribble commended Lamb for his years of dedicated service and says he is truly appreciated.
Lamb says while he’ll miss the job, he’ll have more time to spend with family and people can still expect to see him in the community.
He says he was honored to be chosen for many years by the people of Christian County to be the one to help them through some of the toughest moments of their lives.
Lamb says he experienced many things over the years, both happy and sad, and says a lot of things changed in that time as well, especially technology. Lamb served as Coroner for eight terms.
