WKU teams lose at home Sunday

A late comeback effort fell short for Western Kentucky on Sunday, as the Hilltoppers suffered their first home defeat of the season with an 87-81 loss to Troy at E.A. Diddle Arena. The Hilltoppers trailed by as much as 17 in the second half in falling to 5-5 on the season. Jared Savage led WKU with 23 points with Charles Bassey pitching in 18. Women’s action saw a game that featured 14 ties and 10 lead changes as Western Kentucky dropped an 86-83 decision against Ball State as its three-pointer at the buzzer was just off the mark. The Lady Toppers are now 5-7 on the season and play at Notre Dame Wednesday night.
