Skating on the Square was a big hit in downtown Hopkinsville last weekend and you can expect an additional day of it in 2019, while the new year will also bring in increased activity at the new Sportsplex.
Chris Jung with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation says the inaugural Skating on the Square was extremely popular.
There will be a fourth day of skating on the ice-like surface around the Christmas parade weekend next year.
Regarding the new Hopkinsville Sportsplex, Tony Henson says that facility is nearing completion.
Jung says the Sportsplex will host multiple sports and several leagues, but there will be open gym times for the public at a very low cost beginning next month.
