Hopkinsville man arrested on burglary charges

The Hopkinsville Police Department has served a Hopkinsville man with an arrest warrant for third-degree burglary for an incident that occurred in September.

According to the warrant, 46-year old Evans Jackson of Hopkinsville allegedly entered a business, where he had previously been employed, onto two separate occasions in September. On those days, he allegedly took money from the safe in one incident and attempt to take money on the second.  The warrant states he was familiar with the businesses practices concerning money and knew when the owner would be absent.

There is reportedly video footage of Jackson entering the business, going into the “Employees Only” area and go into the room where the safe is located before leaving. He allegedly came back a few days later, but was unable to get any cash on that occasion.

Jackson was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary.
