Paxton Media Group has chosen the next publisher of the Kentucky New Era.
Brandon Cox is leaving his position as publisher at the Jackson County Sentinel in Scottsboro, Alabama to lead the New Era, according to a story on the Jackson County Sentinel’s website.
Cox cited family reasons for wanting to leave Alabama for Hopkinsville. He is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College and previously worked for the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer, which is also owned by Paxton.
He also formerly served as publisher for the Bay City Tribune in Bay City, Texas.
As previously reported, the sale of the New Era and its sister publications to Paxton was announced Friday.
