Paige Eli Parker was sworn in Friday afternoon as the new Christian County Circuit Court Clerk.
She defeated Trent Haddock in the May primary, went unopposed in November and is taking over a month early after Gary Haddock retired before the end of his term.
District Judge Jim Adams administered the oaths to Parker, who then assured her deputy clerks that she’s as nervous as they are about the transition.
Parker says she intends to lead her staff and to learn from her deputies.
It was hard to find an empty seat in the courtroom, as the ceremony was attended by family, friends, deputy clerks, all five circuit and district judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys.
